We are a network of parents from schools all over England, that want the government to listen to our concerns about the funding situation facing state schools across the country.
Since starting the campaign in December 2016, we have built a network of over 55 local campaign groups the length and breadth of the country and have over 50k supporters.
What do we want?
Our campaign is calling on the government to:
• Reverse cuts to school budgets that have taken place since 2015
• Protect per pupil funding in real terms over the lifetime of this parliament
• Provide the additional funding needed to implement a school funding formula that increases funding for schools in comparatively poorly funded areas of England without cutting funding per pupil for schools in any other part of the country, so that no school loses out.
How are we going to do it?
By harnessing parent voices – through setting up local parent groups – we will bring pressure to bear in Westminster through an effective political lobbying and media strategy at a local and national level.
We will set up parents’ meetings and events in local areas, targeting local MPs and council leaders. And we will stage national days of action, co-ordinating group activity in local areas and bringing groups of parents together at national events too.
We will support parents to set up local campaign groups, meetings and actions. And we will work with teachers, school leaders, councillors and MPs to deliver a collective voice for fair funding for all schools.
